April 11th: Roots to Sky

Roots to Sky is a multi-media celebration ofNational Poetry Month, raising critical funds for Queer and Trans youth arts programs in Calgary.

April 13th: Writing the Body Workshop

Skylar Kay joins the Alexandra Writers' Centre Society to bring a workshop to Calgary.

Starting with a meditative exercise to enter the body, and then writing exercises to generate new ideas, words, and internal healing, this ninety-minute micro workshop aims to help writers better understand, and translate, aspects of their bodies onto the page.

April 28th-May 2nd: Verses Festival of Words

The annual Verses Festival of Words will play home to the lil frog as she travels west to Vancouver for nearl two weeks of poetry!

The festival is comprised of dozens of workshops, and reading events, which examine how we share connections, consume content, and whisper resilience in the face of global silencing and genocide. The programming focuses on gathering, community, shared learning, and amplifying voices in solidarity.
